Biblical Studies at Trinity UCC

Instructor: Dr. Larry Covin, Jr.

Adult Sunday School will begin on Sunday, May 8, 2023, at 9:30 am in the church parlor. It will be held on the second and fourth Sunday prior to each contemporary worship service. Dr. Covin is the primary facilitator. The new class is titled: “Coffee and Conversation” and will be a discussion about the sermon preached the previous Sunday. Please bring your notes from the sermon from each preceding Sunday. The rubric in the back of the bulletin each Sunday will be our study guide.

Spring Bible Study begins Wednesday, April 5th, through Wednesday, April 26th. Rev. Dr. Kellie Turner is the facilitator.

 

Summer Bible Study begins Wednesday, June 14th, through Wednesday, July 5th. Dr. Covin is the facilitator.

 

Fall Bible Study begins Wednesday, September 6th, through Wednesday, September 27th. Rev. Dr. Dominique Denman is the facilitator.

Note:

  • If you desire to receive CEU {Continuing Education Units}, from the Lancaster Theological Seminary, please inform Dr. Covin as soon as possible in order to receive the prerequisite requirements. Generally, one receiving CEU’s would need to complete each session and write a brief paper. There is a very nominal fee paid to the seminary for CEU’s.

 

Although it is not necessary to register, please feel free to do so by contacting Dr. Covin at lcovin@lancasterseminary.edu once you know you will be attending any given session.

  • No prior knowledge of the Bible is necessary to enroll in the Biblical Studies Program of study at Trinity UCC.

  • A course syllabus will be provided for each session during the beginning of the course.

  • Please purchase a New Revised Standard Version translation of the Bible for the course. If you are unable to purchase a NRSV the church will make the purchase for you. Please inform Dr. Covin at least two weeks prior to any session start date.
