Pastor's Bio

RUTH DIXSON HARVEY

The Reverend Ruth Dixson Harvey, fondly known as "Pastor Ruth," is a compassionate, loving woman of God. She is from in Flint, Michigan. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in political science, a Juris Doctor of Law specializing in employment law, and Master of Divinity degree all from Howard University in Washington, DC.

     Pastor Ruth was ordained on June 23, 1996 at the Heritage Fellowship United Church of Christ of Reston, Virginia.

     Since September 19, 2004, Pastor Harvey has served as Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in York, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to York, she served on various committees within the United Church of Christ.  Currently, Pastor Ruth sits as member of the board of directors for the Justice and Witness Ministries of the National Church and as a member of the board of directors for the Penn Central Conference of the United Church of Christ.

     Pastor Ruth believes and teaches "FAITH HAS FEET," meaning that with faith in God, God’s guidance and being an active participant in the process, you can change your situation. 

     One of her favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." One of her favorite hymns is "Great is Thy Faithfulness."
